This course will explore the people, major events (before 1500 A.D. / C.E.), and belief systems that shaped our World. Students will gain an understanding of the conflicts and accomplishments of various world cultures with a focus on various cultures from the Prehistoric Age up to the dawn of the Renaissance. In addition to this look at the past, students will also learn and interpret domestic and foreign current events (such as political campaigns, armed conflicts, genocides, etc.) and other pertinent events of the day. A cross-curricular unit on Human Rights will also be apart of the 8th grade World History course.
